Chalet Hibou (Sleeps 10)

Our main chalet is on two floors (the first and second floors of the property) with fantastic views over Mont Pourri, and sleeps 10 people.

We can also accommodate a further 6 people in our ground floor apartment below the chalet (see Apartment Hibou) Note: should you book both the Apartment and Chalet (sleeping up to 16 people in total), there is an internal door that can be unlocked to connect the two accommodations and allow guests to move freely between them. If only the Apartment or Chalet are booked then the interconnecting door will remain locked at all times.

The chalet bedrooms are located on the first floor where there are two en-suite double bedrooms, a third bedroom with two sets of large adult sized bunk beds, and a fourth bedroom with one set of large adult sized bunk beds. There is also a shared bathroom.

The second floor of the chalet features an open-plan layout, comprising a luxurious lounge, dining area and kitchen. Guests can relax in comfort on our leather sofas, and enjoy the flat screen TV with Blu-Ray DVD and built-in sound system – we have a large collection of DVDs and games for guests to use.

There is a large granite topped dining table which can seat twelve people so is ideal for entertaining visitors and friends, and the well appointed kitchen has an electric Range Master oven, microwave, dish-washer and all crockery/utensils required.

There are large sliding French windows leading onto the two large balconies (with deckchairs). One balcony overlooks the ‘Retour Bataillettaz’ piste, with additional stunning views over Mont Pourri, and the second balcony gives fabulous views of the mountains (including the resort of La Rosière) and Isère valley below Sainte-Foy.

Everything is included in your booking including bed linen, towels and services. The chalet also has super fast wi-fi*, giving you access to all of the online information about Sainte-Foy and the wider Savoie region.

We have designed the chalet with English visitors in mind and throughout the chalet are electrical sockets to take UK plugs, as well as European plugs and USB charge points.

In the property’s basement we have parking spaces for two cars (one space reserved for Chalet guests and one space for Apartment guests), and there is also ample parking nearby. The basement also houses a secure and fully fitted boot room with ski storage and boot warmers!

The chalet is carpeted throughout so we do ask that all guests and visitors leave their outdoor shoes in the separate coat/boot area.

This is our family chalet and we make a conscious effort to keep everything in excellent condition.

*Please note: we are unable to guarantee the wi-fi connection – as is common in the Alps, the signal can be affected by the weather conditions and this is beyond our control.

Chalet Hibou’s entrance is just a few steps from the piste, on the ground floor on the right hand side of the property, and is completely separate from Apartment Hibou’s entrance. The secure external door opens to the bottom of the staircase leading up to the Chalet accommodation.

This generously sized, luxurious bedroom has a double bed and boasts direct access to both the south and the north-west facing balconies, so you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning views. There is ample storage space with wall hooks and a wardrobe for hanging clothes and ski suits, along with a chest of drawers for all your thermals or hiking wear. The en-suite shower room offers a large walk-in shower, a heated towel rail, toilet, washbasin and mirror.

This bathroom is perfect for shared use by guests staying in bedrooms 2 and 3. There is a bath to soak in after a day spent on the slopes or hiking, with a shower over, and a heated towel rail, toilet, washbasin and mirror.

When you arrive at the top of the stairs on the first floor, you’ll find a cloakroom for storing coats and shoes. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on this first floor, and there are stairs up to the second floor where the kitchen, living and dining area are located.

The large lounge area has a luxurious and cosy feel with a wood burning stove – put your feet up and snuggle down under a fur throw on the sofa. If you fancy playing a game with the family, or unwinding and watching a film, there is a collection provided in the chalet. The open-plan space means you’re not too far from the kitchen for drinks and snacks either, and it offers a great space for entertaining visitors. With direct access to both the north-west facing and the south facing balconies, there are incredible views to be enjoyed in both directions.

This shower room provides a useful additional walk-in shower which is handy if the shared bathroom on the first floor is already in use, and with a toilet and washbasin it’s conveniently placed when you’re enjoying the living and dining areas.

The well appointed, open-plan kitchen has all crockery and utensils required. A toaster, microwave, Range Master oven and slow cooker allow you to prepare nourishing meals and quick snacks, with a kettle for warming up with a hot drink after a day on the slopes. The breakfast bar offers a convenient place to catch up over breakfast, and a dishwasher means you can spend less time washing up and more time relaxing and socialising.

The spacious dining area is ideal for entertaining and having dinner with family and friends – the granite topped dining table seats 12 people, while the kitchen breakfast bar also provides 6 additional seats, so there’s plenty of space for everyone.

The fully secure boot room is easily accessed from the road where, conveniently, there is a pick-up point for the ski bus. The boot room is shared between Chalet Hibou and Apartment Hibou, and there’s plenty of space to store your coats, boots and equipment. There are pre-programmed dryers for your boots along with ski storage racks and hooks for hanging jackets.

The basement houses secure car parking garages and a boot room to safely store your equipment and outdoor clothing, and there are steps up the right hand side leading to the accommodation.

The Apartment garage has space for parking one car, with an electric door allowing easy access and a keypad entry/exit system for security.
