Winter
Sainte-Foy ski resort (also referred to as Sainte-Foy Station) is around 4km above the Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise village. It’s approximately 1550m above sea level in the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie, France. The resort was once an old farming hamlet and has been sympathetically developed utilising existing farm buildings with all new chalets constructed from local wood and stone.
The resort has four chair lifts and two magic carpets for beginners, around 20 slopes and a selection of cafes and restaurants in the resort are dotted along the ski routes.
The ski resort of Sainte-Foy was awarded a place in the top five ski resorts in the world by the Sunday Times. Regularly voted one of the world’s top resorts (Sunday Times, FT, Ski magazine etc), Sainte-Foy is a hidden gem. Well groomed and uncrowded pistes are surrounded by fantastic and easily accessible off-piste skiing. Everything from great powder yards from the slopes, through to the unforgettable expert descent of the ‘Face Nord de la Foglietta’.
Sainte-Foy is well known as the place the instructors from Tignes and Val D’Isere come on their days off. It is also endorsed by Jenny Jones (Olympic Snowboarding Gold Medallist) who runs clinics here up to three times a season.
The resort has some wonderful walks with well signposted routes through the mountain woodlands. It’s possible to get a walking pass to the first station and from there either ascend to other parts of the mountain or descend to the base, this takes about 30 minutes.

Saint Foy Resort – Summer.
Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is not only a place to visit in the winter but it’s also a magical place in the Summer. The beautiful mountains provide you with many activities; to list a few you have trail hiking/walking, horseback riding, mountain sports, paragliding, mountain biking and archery.
The location is stooped in heritage and worth discovering from its churches, hamlets and chapels and the Monal Village the ‘not to be missed’ classified site.
There are always summer events so it’s worth visiting the Saint-Foy-Tarentaise tourist office website:

However if you just want to relax and take in the scenery there is no better place than sat on the balcony at Chalet Hibou.
