Chalet Hibou

Built and completed in 2016 this is our family owned chalet. We love the time we spend here and it would give us great pleasure for other families and individuals to enjoy this area of the French Alps as much as we do.

Our chalet sleeps seven people; one double bedroom with ensuite, one triple room comprising single bed and large adult sized bunk beds, and a further bedroom with large adult sized bunk beds.

There are a further two bathrooms in the chalet for your use.

The top floor of the chalet is open plan with fantastic views over Mont Pourri and comprises a luxurious lounge, dining area and kitchen. Relax in comfort on our leather sofas, and enjoy the flat screen TV with Blu-Ray DVD and built in sound system – we have a large collection of DVDs and games for visitors to use.

There are large sliding French windows leading onto the two large balconies (with deckchairs). One balcony overlooks the ‘Retour Bataillettaz’ piste, with additional stunning views over Mont Pourri, and the second balcony gives fabulous views of the mountains (including the resort of La Rosière) and Isère valley below Sainte-Foy.

There is a large granite topped dining table which can seat twelve people so is ideal for entertaining visitors and friends staying in Sainte-Foy.

The well appointed kitchen has an electric Range Master oven, microwave, dish-washer and all crockery/utensils required.

Everything is included in your booking including bed linen, towels and services. The chalet also has super fast wi-fi for you to use, giving you access to all of the online information about Sainte-Foy and the wider Savoie region. Please note: we are unable to guarantee the wi-fi connection – as is common in the Alps, the signal can be affected by the weather conditions and this is beyond our control.

We have designed the chalet with English visitors in mind and throughout the chalet are electrical sockets to take UK plugs.

We have a fully fitted boot room with ski storage in the basement. This is secured and is fitted with boot warmers! The chalet is carpeted throughout so we do ask that visitors leave their outdoor shoes in the separate coat/boot area.

This is our family chalet and we make a conscious effort to keep everything in excellent condition.

There is ample parking very close to Chalet Hibou. In the near future we are looking to complete the fit out of garage parking underneath the chalet.

The chalet is located in La Bataillette, a popular area within Sainte-Foy village.

Being the closest chalet to the piste allows a full ski home experience enabling you to take your skis off right outside the boot room door!

The village centre is a mere 200-300m from the chalet (2-3 min walk). If you don’t fancy the walk in your ski boots (or carrying the kids’ skis!), there is a shuttle bus which runs all day during skiing hours; with a stop outside Chalet Hibou’s boot room door. The run up to the resort takes only 40 seconds. Please be aware that the shuttle bus does not run on Sundays and stops 12:30-13:30 for lunch.

Our chalet in Sainte-Foy is in easy reach of Bourg-Saint-Maurice (20 min drive). Bourg-Saint-Maurice is one of the main towns in this region and offers an impressive four supermarkets, plenty of skiwear shops, cafes, restaurants, car hire facilities, an Olympic sized swimming pool, football pitch as well as other amenities, so it’s the perfect place to head for any non skiers.

Bourg-Saint-Maurice is also the final stop for the “Snow Train” if any of our guests decide to use this method of travel from the UK, you are only a 20 minute drive when you leave the train.

Apartment Hibou

This spacious ground floor apartment accommodates four people in comfort. There are two large bedrooms each with ensuite facilities and each with a  super-king double bed which can be separated to create full size single beds.

The apartment has a well appointed open plan kitchen with microwave, cooker, slow cooker, dish-washer, toaster, kettle and full catering facilities for up to six people.

The lounge dining room area is very light, spacious and airy with a cosy feel along with fur throws and rugs. It comprises a dining table and leather three seater sofa with leather armchair. The apartment also offers a large flat screen TV with DVDs and wi-fi coverage throughout. Please note: we are unable to guarantee the wi-fi connection – as is common in the Alps, the signal can be affected by the weather conditions and this is beyond our control.

The apartment has it’s own separate entrance meaning that it can be used/rented completely independently of the chalet. However there is a lockable interconnecting door between the apartment and chalet which means that the chalet and apartment can be used and rented out as one entire unit if required.

You have access to the boot room and ski storage locker in the basement where you can enjoy fully heated ski boot facilities.

Sliding doors give access to the balcony/patio area overlooking the ‘Retour Bataillettaz’ piste and with stunning views of Mont Pourri. There is a further balcony on the front elevation of the apartment.

This is our family chalet and we make a conscious effort to keep everything in excellent condition.
